The German manufacturer, which had lost everything years ago, returns to the arena with this electric convertible. The history of the German manufacturer Wiesmann has had ups and downs, like life itself. After declaring bankruptcy in 2013, it surprised the world with a concept and a production plan in 2019, to present an electric prototype called Project Thunderball in April 2022. In the last few hours, Wiesmann unveiled images of design exercises carried out with its new convertible, which is timely for us to see everything that is known about the brand new model, along with the latest work of the brand. Wiesmann Proyect Thunderball: Key Features The Project Thunderball is a two-seater, rear-wheel drive roadster, featuring two electric motors delivering up to 500 kW of power (680 hp) and 1,100 Nm of torque, delivering phenomenal straight-line performance and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2s9. The new model is built on a very strong and lightweight aluminum chassis, at the heart of which is a high-density battery with a capacity of 92 kWh, which according to the brand provides a range of 500 km. The Thunderball Project will start production in Gecko, Germany, early next year. The brand has already announced that its first full year of production is sold out, despite prices starting at $310,000. First deliveries are projected for mid-2024. Wiesmann: Three new concepts While we wait for production, Wiesmann unveiled three designs, all inspired by Project Thunderball. The aim is to demonstrate the enormous customization capability that the electric roadster will have. Let's see. Design Concept 1 "Memories of the feeling of the warm sun on your face, the wind in your hair and the view of the crystal clear waters of the Côte d'Azur stretching to the horizon": these were the key elements that inspired the Concept One. For this design exercise, an ocean blue metallic paint exterior was used to evoke the sea and the Mediterranean summer sky, to which was added a luxurious interior upholstered in orange leather, with cream-colored details and glossy teak wood. Design Concept 2 The Concept 2 is inspired by the Roaring '20s, "when optimism for the future was symbolized by pure driving pleasure," says Wiesmann. So, an exterior finished in gold was resorted to, with a matching grille. The exterior ensemble contrasts with the interior, upholstered in deep burgundy leather with matte velvet accents. Design Concept 3 The Concept 3 is based on the night and the heroes of the dark, so it sports an exterior painted in matte black, and glossy black accents. The interior is "dressed" with matte black leather, chrome accents and glossy carbon fiber trim to create a very interesting driving experience. Fuente: Autocosmos
