This is the compact SUV that the Japanese brand will manufacture in Brazil to supply the entire region. After its presentation in Indonesia, it is expected to land in our country between 2024 and 2025. One of Toyota's main novelties this year was the presentation of the Yaris Cross for emerging markets. The debut of this model was relevant, since it is the compact SUV that the Japanese brand chose to produce in Brazil and supply the countries of our region, including Argentina. This sport utility has nothing to do with the model offered in Europe. The platform is the DNGA (a more economical configuration than the TNGA of vehicles such as Corolla, RAV4, among others) and is the same as that of the new generation of the Yaris sedan, a model that would reach the domestic market at some point. While we wait for more news, PARABRISAS had access to documents from the National Institute of Industrial Property that indicate that this Yaris Cross is registered in Argentina. Generally, automakers usually carry out this type of procedure prior to the arrival of a model in order to protect the designs and avoid possible plagiarism. With a similar style to the Corolla Cross and RAV4, this Yaris Cross is known as Project D90B for its future production in Brazil. Measurements are as follows: 4.31 m long, 1.77 m wide, 1.62 m high and a 2.62 m wheelbase. In this way, Toyota will settle its debt with those users who asked for an SUV in this very successful (compact) segment. Although in other regions of the world, the brand already has some reference, South America is the exception. However, in some countries of the continent there are some models of the automaker with such features as the Raize. In terms of engines, it is likely to incorporate hybrid versions to join the "green wave" in the smaller categories. For now we will have to wait, but its (regional) debut is likely to be next year, although the marketing date is not yet known (it could start in 2024 or be postponed to 2025). Fuente: Parabrisas
